Caring for senior citizens, uniting generations

The spirit of compassion, care and togetherness was celebrated through the Senior Citizens CSR Programme and Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration 2026 held at Rumah Sejahtera, Seri Kembangan, today.

Themed “Light of Compassion, Strengthening Togetherness”, the programme was organised by Women in Future Technologies (WiFT) and Youth RAI of the Malaysia Robotics, AI & Automation Association (MYRAS), in collaboration with Hainan Pang.

Various activities were held, including engagement sessions with senior citizens, presentation of contributions and gifts, a meal, birthday celebrations, singing performances including an artificial intelligence (AI)-themed song, as well as light exercise.

Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Jessica Ong, Vice President (Academic) of MYRAS and Chairperson of WiFT MYRAS, said technological advancement must always go hand in hand with human values.

“As we move rapidly into the world of AI, robotics and future technologies, we must never leave humanity behind. Technology should bring people closer together and benefit society,” she said.

According to Eugene Teh, EXCO of Youth RAI MYRAS and Programme Director, the programme also served as a platform to strengthen intergenerational bonds while celebrating Malaysia’s cultural diversity.

Also present were Dr. Kamarazaman Yacob, Deputy President of MYRAS; Noor Fathiah Othman, Interim Chairperson of Youth RAI MYRAS; Audrey Lim, EXCO of WiFT MYRAS; and Aishah Mizan, Youth RAI MYRAS Committee Member.

The programme reflects MYRAS’ aspiration to ensure that advancements in robotics, AI and automation not only drive innovation but also contribute to building a caring, inclusive and people-centred society.
