Datin Wira Nurina Binti Norman is a Malaysian self taught abstract artist and the founder of Utopia by Nurina Norman. Her artistic practice explores the delicate space between reality and fantasy, bringing together abstraction, texture, colour and light to create immersive visual experiences that encourage reflection, imagination and personal interpretation.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Hons.) from Multimedia University, Nurina’s journey into the world of art developed independently through years of experimentation, observation and continuous practice. Her path as a self taught artist reflects a strong commitment to creative discovery and the freedom to develop an artistic language that is distinctly her own.

Nurina’s distinctive style is characterised by rich acrylic textures, layered surfaces and expressive techniques that often blur the boundaries between painting and sculpture. Her works possess a strong tactile quality, with layers of colour and texture creating depth, movement and changing visual perspectives. Light also plays an important role in her artistic expression, interacting with the surfaces of her works and contributing to their immersive quality.

Datin Wira Nurina was also among the featured artists at the Merdeka Art Exhibition 2026 – Beautiful Malaysia, held at Shoppes at Four Seasons Place, Kuala Lumpur. The exhibition brought together local artists and artworks celebrating Malaysia’s cultural diversity, heritage, landscapes and national identity, providing a platform for artistic expression during the country’s National Month and Malaysia Day celebrations. 

Her participation in the exhibition places her work alongside a broader celebration of Malaysian creativity, reflecting the continuing role of local artists in interpreting the country’s identity, experiences and aspirations through different artistic perspectives.

Through Utopia by Nurina Norman, she continues to develop and expand her creative vision, exploring new ideas, techniques and possibilities within contemporary abstract art.
