Novo Holdings Invests in China’s ForYou Medical to Back Global Wound Care Expansion
Novo Holdings takes a strategic minority stake in China's ForYou Medical, signalling growing international confidence in advanced wound care manufacturing and the country's expanding role in the global healthcare supply chain.
SINGAPORE - Novo Holdings has made a strategic minority investment in Chinese advanced wound care manufacturer ForYou Medical, backing the company’s plans to expand internationally as demand grows for specialised healthcare manufacturing and advanced treatment solutions.
The investment brings one of the world’s leading life sciences investors into the next phase of growth for Huizhou ForYou Medical Devices Co Ltd, a contract development and manufacturing organisation specialising in advanced wound care products. GL Capital will remain the company’s majority shareholder.
Headquartered in Huizhou, Guangdong Province, ForYou Medical has built its business around the development and manufacture of advanced wound dressings, haemostatic products and bioabsorbable materials. Since its founding in 2005, the company has developed an integrated platform covering polymer and biomaterial research, product development, regulatory affairs and large scale manufacturing.
Its products and manufacturing capabilities now support healthcare companies across Europe, North America and Asia, positioning the company within a healthcare supply chain increasingly reliant on specialist manufacturing partners.
Novo Holdings said the investment reflected its confidence in the long term growth of the advanced wound care sector, as well as China's growing importance as a centre for healthcare innovation and high quality medical manufacturing.
Advanced wound care is expected to benefit from several long term trends, including ageing populations, the growing prevalence of chronic wounds and wider adoption of specialised treatment technologies. Healthcare companies are also increasingly turning to specialist contract manufacturers to accelerate innovation, broaden product portfolios and improve operational efficiency.
Amit Kakar, Managing Partner and Head of Asia at Novo Holdings, said China was continuing to strengthen its position in global healthcare innovation and advanced manufacturing.
He said the investment was aimed at supporting companies with strong technological capabilities, international competitiveness and long term growth potential.
Novo Holdings Partner and Head of China Sean He said ForYou Medical had established itself as a manufacturing partner to leading wound care companies through its product capabilities, regulatory expertise and focus on quality.
The new investment is expected to support the company's international expansion, strengthen its innovation capabilities and deepen partnerships with customers around the world.
GL Capital chief executive Zhenfu Li said Novo Holdings would bring global healthcare expertise and an international network to support ForYou Medical's next stage of development.
ForYou Medical chief executive Jinwen Mo said the partnership would help the company build on its existing manufacturing and innovation capabilities as it expanded its global customer base.
Novo Holdings, which manages the assets and wealth of the Novo Nordisk Foundation, is a major global investor in healthcare and life sciences. At the end of 2025, the group reported total assets of €93 billion.
The investment also highlights continued international investor interest in China's healthcare manufacturing sector, particularly companies capable of combining advanced technology, regulatory expertise and large scale production for global markets. (PR Newswire APAC).
