FPAM Welcomes 365 New CFP® and IFP® Graduates at 2026 Graduation Day
Malaysia’s financial planning profession received a new cohort of certified practitioners as the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia celebrated the graduation of 365 CFP® and IFP® reinforcing the growing importance of professional standards, ethics and trust in financial advice.
PETALING JAYA — The Financial Planning Association of Malaysia, or FPAM, welcomed 365 new graduates into the country’s financial planning community at its Graduation Day 2026, marking another milestone for the profession as demand grows for trusted and professionally qualified financial advice.
The ceremony celebrated 276 Certified Financial Planner, or CFP®, certificants and 89 Islamic Financial Planner, or IFP®, certificants who completed their certification modules across the September 2025, December 2025 and March 2026 cohorts.
FPAM President Alvin Tan opened the proceedings before graduates were individually called forward for the Scroll and Pin Presentation Ceremony, formally marking their entry into the community of certified financial planning practitioners.
Tan said the value of professional certification extended beyond technical knowledge and rested fundamentally on trust.
“Whether you apply it in professional practice or in your own life, the standard behind this certification matters, TRUST. Trust in the advice given, trust in the decisions made, and trust in the integrity of the person carrying the mark,” he said.
The ceremony also recognised outstanding academic achievement, with awards presented to individual top scorers as well as education providers that contributed to the development of the graduates.
This year’s cohort reflected the broad reach of Malaysia’s financial services industry, bringing together professionals from banking, insurance, wealth management, estate planning, financial planning and financial advisory.
For FPAM, the graduation represents more than the completion of an academic journey. The newly certified practitioners now join a wider professional network bound by common standards of ethics, competence and responsibility.
The CFP® certification is widely recognised as a global benchmark in financial planning and assesses candidates across six key disciplines: investment planning, retirement planning, tax planning, estate planning, insurance, and risk management.
FPAM said its role continues beyond certification, with ongoing professional development, continuing education, networking opportunities and industry resources designed to help practitioners remain relevant as the financial services sector evolves.
As Malaysia places increasing emphasis on financial literacy and stronger professional standards, the latest group of CFP® and IFP® graduates represents another step towards building greater public confidence in financial planning and advice.
