KUALA LUMPUR — News Desk Asia (NDA) has been confirmed as a media partner for the Malaysia Global Business Forum (MGBF) Sports Diplomacy Series, supporting a programme that brings business, diplomacy and sport together to build stronger international relationships.

The partnership begins with the Malaysia–Türkiye Round, titled Corporate Soft Power in the Age of Crisis, on 9 September 2026 at Istanbul Café, (VIP event space) Kuala Lumpur. The event will bring together diplomats, corporate leaders, policymakers and sporting representatives to examine how business and sport can strengthen bilateral ties and create new opportunities at a time of geopolitical and economic uncertainty.

The programme will also mark a decade of the Malaysia–Türkiye Free Trade Agreement and feature the launch of the digital publication The Bilateral Review – Malaysia–Türkiye. H.E. Nevzat Uyanik the Turkish Ambassador to Malaysia has confirmed his attendance, do check out MGBF's recent post on LinkedIn

For the Malaysia–Türkiye bilateral relationship, the top 10 industries are trade, manufacturing and supply chains; energy and natural resources; infrastructure, construction and property; technology, digital economy and AI; healthcare and life sciences; food, agriculture and the halal economy; financial services and investment; tourism, hospitality and aviation; education, sports and human capital; and defence, security and aerospace.

Together, these sectors provide a broad platform for bilateral engagement, creating opportunities for governments, businesses, investors and institutions to build partnerships, expand trade and investment, develop talent and strengthen long term economic and diplomatic relationships.

Importantly, the Sports Diplomacy Series combines international business engagement with direct support for the SportExcel Foundation Fencing Programme, helping develop the next generation of Malaysian athletes.

As media partner, NDA will provide editorial coverage across its platforms throughout the series, extending the reach of participating companies and supporters. Corporate supporters will also receive extended media coverage, providing an opportunity to take their involvement beyond event visibility and into a wider business and international affairs audience through NDA’s editorial platforms.

The Malaysia–Türkiye Round is the first of several MGBF Sports Diplomacy Series editions planned for the remainder of 2026, with upcoming themes including Malaysia–Africa Business & Sports Diplomacy, Malaysia–South America Business & Sports Diplomacy and Selangor to the World.

For News Desk Asia, the partnership reflects its commitment to covering the intersection of business, diplomacy, investment and sport across Asia and beyond.
