SEOUL – LG Electronics is strengthening its global supply chain for advanced antimicrobial materials with the launch of a new production line in Vietnam, marking a significant expansion of its business to business advanced materials business.

The new facility, located at the company's manufacturing complex in Haiphong, Vietnam, will produce approximately 2,000 tonnes annually of advanced glass powder materials, including LG PuroTec and Easy Clean Enamel, to support growing international demand from industrial customers.

The investment is designed to improve supply chain resilience while increasing production capacity for materials used across a broad range of industries, including home appliances, healthcare, construction, food packaging and consumer products.

LG PuroTec is an advanced glass powder material with antimicrobial and antifungal properties. When incorporated into plastics, paint or rubber during manufacturing, it helps inhibit the growth of microorganisms that can cause odours, contamination and product deterioration.
