College of Radiology Inducts New Members and Fellow at Malaysia–Singapore Congress of Medicine

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – The College of Radiology, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia inducted 14 new Ordinary Members and one Fellow during a formal admission ceremony held in conjunction with the 37th Annual Scientific Congress of the Malaysian Oncological Society 2026 and the 59th Malaysia–Singapore Congress of Medicine at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Representing the College of Radiology was its President, Dr. Farhana Fadzli, Consultant Breast Radiologist and Nuclear Medicine Specialist, who officiated the admission of the College's newest Members and welcomed Dr. Syed Ejaz Shamim, who is a consultant nuclear medicine physician, as the College's newest Fellow.

The ceremony, attended by more than 500 delegates, celebrated the professional achievements of the newly admitted specialists and reaffirmed the College's commitment to advancing excellence in radiology and nuclear medicine.

"Congratulations to our newly admitted Fellow, Dr. Syed Ejaz Shamim, and to our newly inducted Members of the College of Radiology. I look forward to working together to further advance our important specialty and continue delivering the highest standards of patient care," said Dr. Farhana.

She added, "Radiology is a specialty that continually evolves at the intersection of medicine, science and technology. It demands lifelong learning, precision and collaboration, making it one of the most dynamic and impactful fields in modern healthcare."

Dr. Farhana, who also serves as President of the Malaysian Society of Radiologists, emphasised the increasingly important role of radiologists in multidisciplinary healthcare. "Radiology is a critical specialty that underpins modern medicine. Through close collaboration with colleagues across multiple disciplines, radiologists play a vital role in delivering timely diagnoses, guiding treatment decisions and ultimately improving patient outcomes."

Dr. Farhana Fadzli is concurrently the President of the College of Radiology, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, the President of the Malaysian Society of Radiologists, and a Consultant Breast Radiologist and Nuclear Medicine Specialist at Hospital Picaso. She has a strong academic background, having served at the University of Malaya for more than 12 years, including as an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer, where she contributed to medical education, research, and the training of future healthcare professionals. 

A respected voice in medical imaging and breast health, Dr. Farhana is a sought-after conference speaker and a passionate advocate for sustainable healthcare and women's health across every stage of life. Through her clinical practice, academic leadership, and professional engagement, she champions innovation, early detection, preventive care, and multidisciplinary collaboration to improve patient outcomes and advance a more resilient and sustainable healthcare ecosystem.

Earlier in the ceremony, the Declaration of the 60th Diamond Anniversary of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia and the Opening of the 59th Malaysia–Singapore Congress of Medicine was graciously officiated by Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Sultan Perak Darul Ridzuan, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah.
