SINGAPORE – Singapore headquartered enterprise artificial intelligence company Whale has secured a US$40 million extension to its Series C funding round, bringing the total capital raised in the round to US$100 million as demand for enterprise AI platforms continues to grow globally.

The latest investment was led by CMB International through its AI and frontier technology investment fund and SMBC Asia Rising Fund, the corporate venture capital arm of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. Other investors participating in the extension include Krungsri Finnovate, Singtel Innov8, Hyundai Motor Group and Charisma Partners.

The latest funding builds on support from existing investors including Bosch Ventures, MTR Lab, MDI Ventures, Gentree Fund and Linear Capital.

Whale said the new capital will be used to accelerate deployments across North America and Asia Pacific, while supporting planned expansion into the Middle East, North Africa and Europe.

Founded in Singapore, the company has positioned itself as a provider of enterprise AI infrastructure that connects digital systems with physical business operations. Its proprietary Business World Model is designed to interpret information collected from cameras, sensors and audio devices, enabling businesses to monitor and optimise day to day operations in real time.

According to Whale, its platform is currently used by more than 1,600 enterprises across more than 45 countries, spanning sectors including retail, automotive, food and beverage, manufacturing and financial services. The company also manages more than 600,000 edge AI nodes worldwide.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer Jerry Ye said the latest investment reflects growing demand from businesses seeking practical AI solutions that improve operational efficiency rather than simply adding new software tools.

"This new funding is not about starting from scratch. It is about advancing what we have already built," Ye said.

He said the company will continue expanding its global workforce, deepen enterprise partnerships and strengthen platform integrations with regional infrastructure providers as organisations increasingly seek ways to reduce operating costs and transform operational data into actionable business intelligence.

Whale's flagship products include SpaceSight, which uses cameras and Internet of Things sensors to analyse customer traffic, engagement and operational compliance across physical locations, and Echo, which applies AI to sales conversations to identify best practices and improve frontline employee performance.

These applications form part of a broader AI Operating System that also includes content distribution, workflow automation, knowledge management and AI governance capabilities, allowing enterprises to manage operational processes through a single integrated platform.

Investors said Whale's ability to bridge physical and digital operations distinguishes it in an increasingly competitive enterprise AI market.

Mayoran Rajendra, Managing Director and Head of the AI Transformation Office at SMBC Group, said the company's technology enables organisations to convert activities taking place in physical environments into structured, actionable intelligence.

"By combining Whale's technology with SMBC Group's global client network and industry expertise, we look forward to delivering value across industries and regions," he said.

Krungsri Finnovate also highlighted Whale's potential to support digital transformation across Southeast Asia through its enterprise grade AI platform, while Hyundai Motor Group said the investment aligns with its focus on technologies capable of delivering measurable business outcomes across sales, marketing and customer engagement.

Existing investor Linear Capital, which has backed Whale since its early stages, said the company has consistently evolved its AI capabilities while expanding internationally, positioning it to become a significant player in the global enterprise AI market.

The announcement comes as investment in enterprise AI continues to accelerate worldwide, with businesses increasingly shifting from standalone AI applications towards integrated platforms capable of managing operational processes across physical and digital environments.

For Singapore, Whale's latest funding round also reinforces the country's growing reputation as a regional hub for enterprise AI innovation, with locally based technology firms increasingly attracting international capital to support global expansion.
