SINGAPORE: 01F Group has invested in DANA, one of Indonesia’s leading digital financial platforms, as the investment group increases its exposure to Southeast Asia’s fintech sector and the country’s expanding digital payments economy.

The investment was made through 01Fintech, 01F Group’s growth-stage fintech private equity arm. Financial terms were not disclosed.

DANA operates an integrated digital wallet and financial services platform serving consumers, merchants and financial institutions across Indonesia. Its network extends beyond the country’s major metropolitan centres into Tier 2 to Tier 4 regions, with millions of users and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises using the platform.

For 01F Group, the investment reflects a longer-term strategy around technology infrastructure, financial inclusion and businesses supporting the wider real economy.

Indonesia remains one of the largest digital markets in Southeast Asia, supported by a large consumer population, widespread smartphone adoption and increasing use of digital payments. The companies cited projections that Indonesia’s digital payments market could approach US$1 trillion by 2030.

The investment is also intended to create opportunities beyond DANA’s existing payments business.

01Fintech and DANA plan to explore ways of expanding access to credit and working capital for MSMEs operating on the platform. Other areas include micro-insurance, digital savings and wealth-building products, as well as potential cross-border payment solutions for Indonesian merchants and consumers.

Kenny Man, founder and managing partner of 01F Group, said the investment was based on the platform’s operational capabilities, its role in supporting local MSMEs and the resilience of its management team.

The deal gives 01F Group greater exposure to Indonesia at a time when digital financial services are becoming increasingly embedded in everyday commerce, particularly among smaller businesses outside the country’s largest urban centres.

For DANA, the investment brings both capital and access to 01Fintech’s fintech expertise and regional network. Chief executive officer and co-founder Vince Iswara said the company would remain focused on strengthening its core platform, supporting merchants and expanding access to digital financial tools.

The transaction also highlights the growing interest among regional investment groups in Indonesia’s digital infrastructure. While financial technology remains a competitive sector, the combination of a large domestic market, growing digital adoption and millions of smaller businesses provides a substantial addressable market for financial services companies.

01F Group said the DANA investment forms part of its broader technology investment strategy, with its activities spanning fintech, artificial intelligence and the wider digital economy.

For Indonesia, the significance extends beyond digital wallets. As more MSMEs move transactions and financial activity online, platforms such as DANA are increasingly becoming part of the infrastructure connecting consumers, merchants and financial institutions.

The investment therefore places 01F Group within a broader regional trend in which capital is moving towards digital platforms capable of combining payments, financial services and access to business capital across Southeast Asia.
