SINGAPORE — Singapore based Major Payment Institution dtcpay has completed a US$25 million Series A funding round, with Japan’s SBI Group joining as a strategic investor as the company accelerates the expansion of its regulated stablecoin payment infrastructure.

The Series A was initially led by Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India in April 2026 and has now been further anchored by SBI Group through its subsidiary SBI Ventures Asset Pte Ltd and the SBI NTU Kyobo Digital Innovation Fund. Genedant Capital and existing investor Kwee Liong Tek also participated in the round.

The investment comes as dtcpay seeks to expand the use of stablecoins in mainstream payments, connecting digital assets with conventional financial infrastructure for businesses and consumers.

Founded by Alice Liu and Band Zhao, dtcpay provides infrastructure allowing users and businesses to accept, store and transact in stablecoins. Its platform includes a real time swap engine designed to facilitate settlement between stablecoins and fiat currencies.

The company has also developed payment solutions aimed at bringing stablecoins into everyday commerce. Its digital payment token point of sale solution allows merchants to accept stablecoin payments, while its integration with WalletConnect has extended stablecoin acceptance across more than 700 wallets.

A partnership with Visa has also enabled dtcpay customers to spend across multiple fiat currencies and stablecoins at more than 150 million merchant locations globally, according to the company.

dtcpay has pursued commercial applications beyond the digital asset sector, including a partnership with BNB Chain and the introduction of stablecoin payments at Metro, making the Singapore department store an early retail adopter, alongside selected hospitality partners including Capella Singapore.

The fresh capital will support further product development, expansion of the company’s merchant network and international growth. dtcpay said its roadmap for the remainder of 2026 includes a revamped business portal for enterprise customers and additional consumer features for its application.

Regulation is central to the company’s expansion strategy. dtcpay is licensed as a Major Payment Institution by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and holds an Electronic Money Institution licence in Luxembourg, giving it a regulated operating foundation across Singapore, Europe and other markets.

SBI Group brings a substantial financial services network to the shareholder base. The Japanese group operates across banking, securities, insurance, asset management and digital assets, while its Singapore based subsidiary SBI Ven Capital manages the SBI NTU Kyobo Digital Innovation Fund.

SBI Ven Capital chief executive Eiichiro So said the investment reflected SBI Group’s interest in expanding digital asset corridors between Japan and Southeast Asia through regulated financial infrastructure.

dtcpay founder and chief executive Alice Liu said the company intends to use the funding to accelerate the development of infrastructure for cross border payments, while group chairman Band Zhao said the next phase would focus on scaling infrastructure, strengthening partnerships with financial institutions and entering additional regulated markets.

Genedant Capital, a Singapore based fund management firm licensed by MAS, also participated in the round. The firm has more than US$2 billion in assets under management and advisory and said it would support dtcpay’s commercial expansion through its network of strategic investors and institutional relationships.

The Series A marks another step in the development of regulated stablecoin payment infrastructure in Asia, with dtcpay positioning Singapore as a base for expansion across Southeast Asia and international markets.
